I don't use to draw comics, since I prefer to make animations, but this time I wanted to tell a longer story, so since I only have weekends I decided to make a comic for Cirno Day 2026 (I already did an animation for 2025)

On this post I'm going to explain how I made this comic.

First of all, similar like I do on animations, I use sticky notes to sketch and build an story, each note has a small scribble that visually tells a small bit of the story.

After that I sketch the pages layout linking the notes to each comic cell

Although the characters already exist since this is a Tohou's Fanfic/Doujin I needed to create character sheets to set style for the comic.

After that I started drawing all 9 pages with pencil and paper, at this stage, the speech bubble contains just vague dialogs and notes as a guides of what is happening on each cell

When I finished all 9 pages, I scanned them into my PC and started the digital ink process, This time I used Krita, my first time using it and it was a great experience.

And after that the last thing is to write all the final dialogs and add them into the speech bubbles

This was a really fun experience, and I might do more comics between animations. the best part is that I can print them and make physical copies, of course this one since this is a fan work is not for sale and I will just gift it for some friends
